The World of Tudor

The Birth of the Brand

Discover Tudor

In February 1926, the firm “Veuve de Philippe Hüther,” a watch merchant and manufacturer, registered the “The Tudor” brand, based in Geneva, on behalf of Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf. Later, in 1936, the firm transferred the brand to Wilsdorf. Shortly after the end of World War II, Hans Wilsdorf realized that the time had come to expand and give the brand its own identity. On March 6, 1946, he founded “Montres TUDOR S.A.,” specializing in models for both men and women. Rolex would guarantee the technical, aesthetic, and functional characteristics, as well as distribution and after-sales service.

Hans Wilsdor's Intuition

The History of Tudor

“For many years, I had been considering the idea of creating watches that our distributors could sell at a slightly lower price than our Rolex watches, but which would meet the same standards of reliability for which Rolex is recognized worldwide. That is why I decided to found a company specifically dedicated to the manufacture and sale of these new watches. This company is called Montres TUDOR S.A.”

Watchmaking

The Art of Assembly

A TUDOR watch lives, pulses, and transports you to the world of micro-precision. Every technical component has been tested down to the smallest detail. To the point of obsession. Immerse yourself in the movement. Aesthetics and functionality are guided by the imperatives of creating a product dedicated to the most discerning customers—designed to endure and to be enjoyed. The eye is guided by the mind and the heart; time must not take its toll on this precision mechanism. Exceptional materials, durability, and design strength make each watch a unique piece.
